Marie – Jazz

Jazz is a dynamic and energetic style of dance, mixing academic technique with letting go and feeling. It is characterized by its rhythm, its use of body isolations and its expressive movements. The objectives of the course are to develop technique (master the basics of modern jazz dance, including isolations, contractions, jumps and pirouettes), strengthen coordination and musicality, encourage dancers to express emotions and tell stories through their movements, improve flexibility, strength and endurance. The classes consist of a warm-up, technical work in the center and in crossings, often varying the heights, technical sequences and a choreography to memorize.

children

This class is designed to introduce children in a playful and creative way. The exercises and choreographies are adapted to capture their attention and stimulate their imagination. The objective of the course is to develop motor skills and coordination, introduce the basic concepts of rhythm and movement, encourage self-expression and self-confidence.

Teen 1

This class is aimed at pre-teens and teenagers wishing to deepen their jazz dance skills. It emphasizes technical development and artistic expression.

Teen 2

The course for teens focuses on the advanced development of jazz techniques. Students are encouraged to develop a strong stage presence and self-expression, to improve their physical condition, endurance and flexibility. The choreographies are more and more elaborate and intense.

adults

This course is aimed at adults of all levels who wish to learn or improve jazz dance. It combines technique, artistic expression and physical well-being (work on physical fitness and flexibility).

The goal is to learn or perfect academic technique by using dance as a means of expression and relaxation.

Marie – Classical children – dance awakening / initiation

45-minute class reserved for children between 4 and 6 years old. The course is in the form of discovery workshops around classical dance by learning the fundamental notions of dance (space, rhythm, observation, posture,…). Children are introduced in a playful way to get them to love dance by awakening their musicality, creativity and body awareness. At the end of this class, the dance positions are mastered, and the work at the barre begins.

Classic Kids 1

From the age of 7/8, the classic 1 course begins the technical training of the student. The child discovers the classic technique, works on flexibility and support while encouraging creativity and self-confidence. At the end of this class, the student masters a small bar, a few sequences in the center or in crossings.

Classic Kids 2

From 9/10 years old or depending on the technical level, the classic 2 course continues the classic technical training of the student. The child improves his technique and coordination, works on his memorization and flexibility. He is now able to present a complete bar, and the sequences in the center or in crossings are becoming more complex.

Classic Kids 3/4

From 10/11 years old or depending on the technical level, the classic 3 course continues the classic technical training of the student with more precision and mastery. The child strengthens his flexibility, balance and coordination. The sequences are more and more varied and technical, and the notion of repertoire is addressed. Beyond technical work, artistic development and expression are highlighted.
